Next Stakeholder Meeting - July 11th

 

Please join us as we present our Final System Design to all the stakeholders and citizens of Portage and Geauga county. Special guests from the FTA will be at the meeting to answer any project questions you may have. The meeting will be held at 11:00 AM at the PARTA offices.

Regional ITS Architecture and GAP Report

 

The focus of the OTTO TMCC Regional Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Architecture and Standards GAP report will be on statewide projects as well as projects in adjoining counties near Portage and Geauga that could potentially impact the Transportation Management Coordination Center (TMCC). Currently, the State of Ohio is planning a Statewide Smartcard Project which will overlap with the Portage and Geauga TMCC. The Kent, OH project team has met with the State of Ohio team and decided that the same system will be used for both projects. The Smartcards will be used for transportation fees and for other human service benefits in the future.

 

All the counties in the region each have their own transportation technology in place which has been a significant factor in the Kent, OH system design. Some counties have the Trapeze ITS solution and others have another vendor for their management systems. The OTTO TMCC has been designed to allow those counties that want to join the TMCC to do so in a smooth transition using technology.

System Design Document - Due June 30th

 

Our final System Design document will be sent to the FTA on June 30th. The TMCC will be designed for easy scalability and replicability, two of the FTA requirements for the project to move on to Phase II - the deployment phase. The OTTO TMCC will use the most up-to-date technologies to become a regional, efficient transportation coordination center.
